J & K Power Vac Services

When, if ever, have the air ducts in your home been cleaned and decontaminated?
Millions of tiny but nasty critters may be lurking inside the ductwork of your home’s heating and cooling system. These contaminants can include dust, pollen, bacteria, mold and fungal spores, dust mites, tobacco smoke by-products, and animal dander. Too small to be captured by your furnace filter, these invisible invaders can spew out into the air you and your family breathe every time the furnace or air conditioner runs wreaking havoc on the lungs, sinuses and the health of your family.
J & K Power Vac expert technicians will thoroughly clean and decontaminate your ductwork, making the air your family breaths much cleaner. We will rid your home of these nasty contaminates.
Clogged Dryer vents cause fires
Clothes dryers start more residential fires that any other appliance. The Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that there are over 24,000 dryer fires each year in the United States, causing over $96 million in property damages. Lack of vent maintenance is the leading cause of dryer fires, and lint, which is a hidden fire hazard, is the material that is most likely to ignite. Even a cleaned lint screen traps only 75 percent of the lint. When lint builds up in a dryer vent, the dryer has to labor harder and can over heat, igniting the lint.
It isn’t just clothes-dryer vent hoses that need to be checked. Clogged lint screens compartments, disconnected or ripped dryer vent hoses, smashed hoses behind the clothes dryer, bird nests in dryer vents, poor dryer-vent design, screens placed over the exhaust point, use of white plastic vent hoses instead of aluminum foil ones, building defects, wrong exhaust hoods all produce the same blockage, and all cause dryer fires.
All these fires are preventable. The experts at J & K Power Vac can inspect, clean and repair your dryer vents and hoses to reduce this fire hazard.
